Mary Her Gacono provides struggled with dementia for nearly a decade — and her loving husband, Carl, has been at her side all the way.

Carl has been eager to have his wife remain at their Annville, Missouri, home for as long as possible, taking charge of all of her care. Yet one new morning, Carl, 88, a new doctor’s session and had to enlist the help of the couple’s daughter, Becky, to help maintain Mary Alice while he was away.

Even though she entered into her dad’s shoes, Becky got an exclusive look at Carl’s super particular (and sweet) morning routine for his wife of nearly 68 years.

“I went over in the morning to help her prepare yourself because he was heading out, inches Becky, fityfive, tells PEOPLE. “That’s his morning jump4loves schedule: getting her to the bathroom, helping her shower, obtaining her outfitted, getting her breakfast and then just backed by her throughout the day. ”

Becky first distributed the special story with Love What Matters, writing that Carl put in time discussing Mary Jane’s morning routine so she was certain to get it perfectly. Becky says that throughout her parents’ marriage, Linda Jane has become supportive of Carl and has been his “biggest supporter. ”

“She dedicated her life to loving him and helping him in most his dreams and being successful. But I do believe he has tired, tired and performing the best he can. ”

Caretakers help throughout the weekdays and, along with Becky, a few of the couple’s other children as well come to help care for Mary Jane — as Becky says is actually clear that her father is “tired” and “exhausted. ”
